I spent almost my entire career at a local trust company, helping retirees and those nearing retirement, turn their savings into income they could rely on. I loved the work. I valued the relationships. I believed deeply in serving clients the right way, personally, thoughtfully, and with their goals at the center. For a long time, that’s exactly how it worked.
Then the company was sold to private equity.
Over time, things changed. The focus shifted more toward growth and the bottom line. Decisions weren’t being made locally anymore. The culture felt different. The community-first, client-first mindset that once defined the firm started to fade. Employees felt it first. Clients eventually felt it too.
That was a turning point for me.
I realized that if I wanted to serve people the way I believed they deserved to be served, I needed to build something different.
I wanted independence. The freedom to give advice without outside pressure. No competing agendas. No layers between me and the families I work with. Just clear, thoughtful guidance, every time.
So I started Blue Castle Wealth.

I wasn’t alone in that decision. Many of the families I had worked with for years chose to come with me. That meant more than I can put into words. It also confirmed something I already knew, people don’t want to feel like just another account at a large firm. They want a relationship. They want to know who they’re calling. They want to feel heard.
When a client says, “It feels like it’s just between us,” that’s not by accident. That’s the whole point.
